La Dicha is a daughter of the legendary 222, out of the beautiful mare La Estampa de Valparaiso.
As a 3-year-old, her sire 222 was named the U.S. National Champion Fino Colt. One year later, he repeated that feat in the
4-year-old Classic Fino Colt division at the U.S. National Championship. By the age of nine, 222 had been named one of the top 10 Paso Fino sires in the country. He has also won numerous international awards, including the Grand Championship at an international competition in Puerto Rico when he was just 4 years old!

Her dam, Estampa, has a great combination of Colombian and Puerto Rican bloodlines. She is one of the few daughters left of the great sire, Carmin, and her bloodlines on the dam's side include Kofresi, Batalla, and Mr. Puerto Rico. Carmin was a great stallion out of Resorte IV. Estampa's mother's dam is Lorenzia, who is a full sister to Kopeki. Kopeki is the sire of the mother of Arco Iris, the colt that won at Spectrum in the Classic Fino category. Arco Iris is out of Capuchino and a Classico mare and of a Kofresi daughter. An offer of $400,000 was turned down for Arco Iris!

La Dicha is a very nice filly with a great disposition and personality. She has a nice front end, with good overall movement and excellent hock action. She is also very gentle. La Dicha is still at the beginning of her training, but one can already tell that this mare is going to be one of the privileged few who encompass all the best elements -- breeding, disposition, and movements. These mares are very rare because we very seldom have the combination of brio, gentleness and good pedigree. In addition to all that, this filly is getting the excellent training that comes with every horse Hacienda Guadalupe sells.

This phrase certainly describes the well respected National Senior Certified Paso Fino Judge Ernest Sanz, Jr., co-owner of Hacienda Guadalupe with his father Ernest Sanz, Senior. Ernest Jr, better known as Ernie Sanz, has an amazing untiring passion for this incredible unique smooth gaited breed of horses known as the Paso Fino. After having been introduced to horses by his grandfather and father Ernie had all the makings of a natural horseman and he made his decision early in life to make Paso Finos his career. I don't think he had any control over his passion for horses, he was born with that passion I am sure. Ernie, I think, must have a photographic memory as he remembers even the smallest of details in Paso Fino horses that he saw in competition many many years ago.
